EL CUCUY

​The legend of El Cucuy is a traditional folktale deeply rooted in Latin American and Spanish culture. Often described as a shadowy, monstrous figure, El Cucuy is said to hide in dark corners, under beds, or inside closets. Similar to the boogeyman in other cultures, the story has been passed down through generations as a cautionary tale used by parents to encourage good behavior. Though descriptions vary by region—sometimes portraying El Cucuy as a hairy creature with glowing eyes, other times as a faceless shadow—the central theme remains the same: a mysterious being that punishes disobedience. It is said that the only time you see El Cucuy is  just before he takes you his glowing eyes appear.
